Free Starlink Wi-fi is going to be on the Hawaiian airline's flights
Hawaiian Airlines has announced that it will offer free in-flight internet on select routes with SpaceX’s Starlink broadband service.
The offering, which will begin later this month, will allow flyers to connect to SpaceX’s satellite internet service while in the air. Hawaiian Airlines will be the first airline to offer free in-flight internet with a satellite service. The Starlink service will initially be offered to passengers on Hawaiian flights to Tokyo and Los Angeles, and will later expand to other routes. In a statement, Hawaiian said passengers will be able to access free Wi-Fi on the A-330 aircraft, and that they will also be “provided training on how to use the in-flight service to their full potential.” The offer is another sign that the in-flight internet industry is taking off, with more airlines announcing plans to offer passengers free internet on long-haul flights in recent months.
