Influencers are the best-known name in the travel marketing world. They have millions of followers, and other travellers often see and share their posts. They often receive free trips, accommodations and other perks from brands to promote the brand. But what exactly goes on behind the scenes when an influencer posts a photo of their latest trip?

Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms. It’s a great place to find travel inspiration, and if you follow the correct accounts, you’ll be able to see some amazing places without ever leaving your home country. Of course, every Influencer is different, but we can cut down one by one from where an Influencer can get money.

Travel has always been a popular topic on Instagram, but recently the platform has become a hotspot for influencers and brands alike. Now, Instagrammers can make money by posting travel-related content to their accounts, which often attract hundreds of thousands of followers. The best Travel Influencers can make six-figure incomes from their Instagram accounts alone, and some have even turned their accounts into full-time careers. It is not easy, behind the curtains there is lots of work. But is it worth it?? Yes! Because in the end, Influencers are able to travel the world and see some amazing places. On the other hand, keep in mind that, sometimes they don’t have the time to enjoy them. We already wrote a blog post about Influencers vs Bloggers so please check that out. Also, we included our experiences with this work so go and check it out.

Let’s get to it!

How Instagram Travel Influencers Get Paid

Let’s be clear, there are two big Influencer groups. One is the well-known Lifestyle Influencer, who is more focused on locations and looks. They are the Influencers who you are jealous of. They have the newest everything and they are smiling all in their pictures. Their life is perfect. The other one is the Content Influencer who is focusing on the content and researching more about what she wants to share. It can be in video or written format. Both can be successful, but if you follow simple logic, a Lifestyle Influencer is going to earn more, because brands can use that person as a walking billboard for their product.

The biggest key here is how Influencers are able to monetize themselves. You know that a content influencer can also earn a lot from Youtube. Youtube is a good example of monetization because after 1000 subscribers she can add ads. It depends on what social media you want to do it and how many followers you have. Now we are not focusing on monetization in this Article. We are focusing now on the original Instagram Influencers.

So let’s see Instagram as an example with followers how much they are getting(keep in mind that every Influencer are different, these are just guidelines):

Nano-Influencers

Followers range from 1,000 to 5,000.

Nano-Influencers create content as a side hustle, but they have some of the most devoted followers due to their authenticity and relatability. People believe what they say because they are perceived as the guy or gal next door. This implies that businesses can expect unprecedented levels of engagement.

Mostly free stuff but can be one post for around 100 to 200 dollars. Depends on the engagement.

Micro-Influencers

Followers range from 3,000 to 100,000.

Micro-Influencers are in the sweet spot of Influencer marketing. Their services are reasonably priced, have a wide reach, and provide high levels of engagement because they frequently serve a niche audience. You can start earning money as an influencer if an Influencer has 3,000 or more followers.

They will be paid 5000 dollars to 15 000 dollars and above per post or blog or video and free stuff plus travel.

Macro-Influencers

100,000 or more followers

Macro-Influencers have evolved into online celebrities. They have a significant number of followers. This means they don’t usually interact with their followers as frequently as nano and Macro-Influencers do, but brands should expect a lot of attention for any promotional content they post.

15 000 dollars and above, but not more than around 30 000 dollars.

Mega Influencers have 1 million or more followers

Companies understand that when they partner with big Influencers, engagement will be low. Because Mega Influencer followers are a diverse group, only a small proportion will be interested in a particular company. Brands, on the other hand, understand that their promotional post will reach millions of potential customers, and some are willing to pay a premium for this privilege.

They will be paid 20 000 to 50 000 dollars and above per post or blog or video and free stuff.

Let’s see what Influencers have to do if you want to reach this cash. It can usually take 1–5 years to achieve this goal.

How can an influencer achieve big payments, what do they have to do?

  • Selling their services
  • Selling affiliate products
  • Giving shoutouts
  • Sending traffic to their Blog/Website
  • Brand sponsorships/ambassador
  • Promoting a brand
  • Making an ad for a brand
  • Promoting a service

They focus on:

  • Creating quality content
  • Original content
  • Providing value
  • Look real and legit
  • Engage with followers

Influencers are celebrities in the travel industry. They shoot beautiful, unique, and sometimes even unusual travel photos and videos, which drives a huge amount of engagement on social media. They also often receive free airfare and other perks to help promote their brands. Today, influencers are so important to the travel industry that companies are willing to pay large amounts of money to have the best influencers on their brand.

It is not easy to be a travel influencer, because it takes a lot of work. Waking up early to get the best shots, always on the road. Also, don’t forget to be far from friends and family. But the payment is definitely worth it. Seeing beautiful places and getting money? Who wouldn’t want that?

Now you have seen the numbers, you can get lucky. Go for it!!!
