Mumbai Must-See Sightseeing Points with 3 Days Itinerary

Introduction

Welcome to Mumbai, a bustling city in India that has something for everyone. In this blog post, we’ll explore the top sights to see, as well as some great places to eat and stay for 3 days. We stayed here for two weeks, but we think this would be too long. Three days would be ideal.

Attractions for Day 1

Start your day by visiting the iconic Gateway of India, a monument built during the British Raj in India. From there, take a ferry to the nearby Elephanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site that houses ancient rock-cut temples. We did this tour in one day. However, be careful as the ferry ride takes around 50 minutes, so the entire tour should take around 4–5 hours.

After returning to Mumbai, head to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a historic railway station. End your day with a visit to the Marine Drive, a picturesque promenade that offers a stunning view of the Arabian Sea.

Cafes and Restaurants for Day 1

For breakfast, head to the famous Cafe Mondegar in Colaba, known for its classic Indian breakfast dishes and a quirky ambiance. If you’re looking for a quick snack, try the delicious samosas at the Gateway of India. For lunch, there are several restaurants on the island with great food. We particularly enjoyed the paneer at a vegetarian restaurant. In the evening, head to the trendy rooftop bar, Aer, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Worli for some delicious food and a beer.

Accommodation for Day 1

For a luxurious stay, check out the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Colaba, which offers stunning views of the Gateway of India. It’s really the best hotel in India.

On a budget? Hotel Suba Palace in Colaba is a great option, offering comfortable rooms at an affordable price. The Locomo hostel was the number one choice in Bandra due to their high-speed internet and delicious breakfast.

Attractions for Day 2

Start your second day by visiting the famous Siddhivinayak Temple, one of the most revered temples in Mumbai. But be aware again, we wated 3 hours there!!! Don’t go around lunch time. From there, head to the Haji Ali Dargah, a mosque located on an islet off the coast of Worli. Next, visit the Nehru Science Centre, an interactive science museum that is perfect for families. End your day with a visit to the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, a cable-stayed bridge that offers a stunning view of the skyline.

Cafes and Restaurants for Day 2

For breakfast, head to the iconic Cafe Leopold in Colaba, known for its delicious breakfast dishes and a great ambiance. For lunch, try the famous butter chicken at the legendary Moti Mahal in Bandra. In the evening, head to the Social in Colaba, a trendy cafe that offers delicious food and drinks.

For a luxurious stay, check out the St. Regis Hotel in Lower Parel, which offers stunning views of the city skyline.

On a budget? Check out the Ginger Mumbai in Andheri, which offers comfortable rooms at a reasonable price.

Start your final day by visiting the famous Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, a museum that houses a vast collection of art and artifacts.Also, the museum is quite large, so it might take 2 hours to explore. From there, head to the Crawford Market, a famous market that offers a wide range of products. Next, visit the iconic Juhu Beach, a popular tourist spot that offers a stunning view of the Arabian Sea. It’s not really for swimming, but for relax. We drank a coffee and chilled there.

For breakfast, head to the famous Cafe Madras in Matunga, known for its delicious South Indian breakfast dishes. For lunch, try the famous biryani at the legendary Lucky Restaurant in Bandra. In the evening, head to the Glocal Junction in Andheri, a trendy bar that offers delicious food and drinks.

For a luxurious stay, check out the Oberoi Hotel in Nariman Point, which offers stunning views of the Arabian Sea.
